The News Network, stylized as tnn and often referred to by those initials, is a Robloxian television channel owned by Lava Lamp Entertainment, focusing on news and opinion programming. The channel soft launched on July 26, 2019.

History[]

Planning for the channel began in April 2017, as Lava Lamp Entertainment CEO WeepinnWillow had become convinced that Robloxian news networks could indeed find an audience. Due to a former channel with a similar name owned by TheMagRBLX ("The News Channel"), Willow checked with him before using the name "The News Network". The channel, like competitor Blox News Channel, frequently skews liberal, but unlike competitors such as Our Voices, the channel focuses more on other topics, rather than devoting much of its time to politics.

The channel was officially announced on July 22, 2017, at the Summer 2017 edition of RTNG MediaCon, along with several other Lava Lamp-owned channels.

On May 22, 2018, the network quietly launched an HD feed. On July 14, 2018, TNN gained an extension channel after Lava Lamp acquired Our Voices Political News from AAK Corporation; the channel was rebranded TNN Politics following Lava Lamp's acquisition.

On January 19, 2019, TNN began test broadcasts, as Lava Lamp aims to give the channel a full launch in the summer of 2019 as part of their commitment to focus on Robloxian content channels, something they had been criticized for lacking in the past. The channel soft launched on July 26, 2019 with coverage of the Summer 2019 edition of RTNG MediaCon.

Programming[]

TNN's programming consists of news and opinion programming; the network has less of a focus on politics than its chief competitor Blox News Channel, but still maintains a liberal slant. There is currently only one program announced: TNN Newsroom, which is the main newscast.

TNN also plans to offer live coverage of RTNG MediaCon, beginning with the Summer 2019 installment.
